ECO

Over the last 6 months work has begun on improving some of our outside spaces. This started over the summer holidays when we were lucky enough to be granted funding by the Ecology Trust Fund, to renew our existing pond.

The pond was in desperate need of some TLC but the good news is that it was already home to newts and toads as well as lots of other wildlife. The team from Nurture Ecology did and amazing job of clearing and relining the pond. New fencing was put in place and grass seeds and logs piles put down. We will be re planting the pond with aquatic plants in the next couple of weeks.

Mr. T has given the cabin a fresh lick of paint and the path down the side of year 3 has been improved making it easier to get around that side of the school.

Children will be helping to improve and care for these areas as we go into the spring and summer term. This will include caring for our local birds and other wildlife by feeding and monitoring them as well as planting lots of seeds to make our school colourful.'

Thank you!
